Are you on a ketogenic or low carb way of eating? How do you track your MACROS? It’s a common questions. Your MACROS are your proteins, carbs, and fats. To become fat adapted and successfully in ketosis it’s super important that we intake the proper ratios of these elements. If using exogenous ketones, this won’t be as necessary, but either way, tracking your food is needed. So what app should you use? I’ve tried several and the Carb Manager one seems to be the most intuitive and helpful for this way of eating.
However, using the Carb Manager App can be confusing if you don’t have your settings correct. When the settings are correct, the app can be a wonderful tool in whatever meal plan you are following, ketogenic, low carb, low calorie, weight watchers, etc. In this video I explain how to set up your app correctly for your personal goals.

I did a 60 hour keto fast! Yeah you read that correctly, sixty hours. But here’s the thing, I skipped the food but I still took in liquids. I drank bone broths (savory and sweet), ketones, and ketogenic teas (chocolate included!).
Why? The 60 Hour Keto Reboot that I did is a metabolic reboot. It gave my system time to rest, recharge, get rid of carb cravings, and repair damaged cells. I went into deep ketosis and burned stored fat, reduced inflammation and bloating, and even lost a little over 2 pounds! Crazy right?!
Personally, I took this challenge on because I had been eating more carbs lately and really wanted to detox from that and reduce inflammation. I knew it would clear up my skin as well and that was a huge bonus. My body started to feel like it was a website that was lagging and just couldn’t load right, so I knew it was time to jump in and do something.
I went through some carb detox because I haven’t been strict keto lately and my body was screaming for carbs. I learned a lot this time around. I learned about mental strength, endurance, eating habits, and how to do more with little. I documented the whole thing so you can watch it for yourself.

Have you been hearing about the keto/ketogenic diet? Interested but not sure what it’s really all about? The ketogenic diet is a WOE (way of eating) that puts your body into ketosis. Ketosis is when your body is in a state of burning fat instead of burning glucose (sugar, carbs). When your body is in this state it will burn the fat you’re eating plus the stored fat in your body.
How do you get your body into that state? By eating a high fat low carb diet. You restrict your carb intake, eat moderate protein, and a high amount of healthy fats.
How to start? I suggest downloading an food log app to help you calculate your MACROS (fat, protein, & net carbs). I use CARB MANAGER. Start to educate yourself on what foods are keto approved and which ones aren’t. You can even watch some of my videos that follow what I eat throughout an entire day. The hardest part is making the decision to get started, but once you do, you’ll be so thankful that you did.
