How to Prep for Beginning Keto

I don’t know about you but any time I get interested in something I research the TON out of it. I watch youtube videos, read articles, find books, and ask questions to every person I know that has information about the topic. So, I learn.

When I first heard about the ketogenic way of eating I did the exact same thing before I began. Now, a year later I made a video of the essentials to have on hand when beginning this lifestyle. It’s a very short list but it really is the basics as to what I needed and what I know has helped both me and the community of others that I’ve gone through the past year with.

So, when prepping to begin keto what are some MUST HAVES to have on hand and in your home?

Can you maintain weight loss after a ketogenic diet?

Whenever we start a new diet we’re told the same thing by people, “Once you stop you’ll gain all the weight back!” I’m sure it’s true for most diets and most people, but I’ve experienced something different with the keto way of eating!

Due to crazy summer life, amped up time at work, two productions, and just lack of planning, I’ve been off my keto way of eating for a few months. Guess what? I have not gained ANY of it back! How in the world does that happen? I contribute it to a few things:

  1. Keto helped me learn to make better choices
  2. I drink keto kreme with my coffee for breakfast each day
  3. A slight increase in physical activity
  4. Including ketones in my day, keeping me fuller longer
  5. My cravings have significantly changed.

Now that it’s fall and my life is coming together again I’m going to get back to my way of eating. Why? Because I feel absolutely GREAT when eating keto and feel absolutely HORRIBLE when I’m not. Want to join me? Comment below if you’re ready to dive into a healthier fall!

Shrimp Scampi & Pasta | Keto-Friendly

Yes! You can STILL have pasta dishes when eating low carb, you just need to get creative. See below for details of ingredients, recipe, & macros. This recipe doesn’t have perfect macros but is extremely low carb and can be worked into your ketogenic lifestyle.

Ingredients
1lb Shrimp, deveined
4 TB Butter
1/2 lemon
1/2 C white wine
2 Handfuls of Squash or Zucchini Noodles
Salt, Pepper, Crushed Red Pepper, Chopped Garlic, Chopped Parsley
Grated Parmesan Cheese

+Melt butter in a pan, add garlic. Add lemon juice, white wine & crushed red pepper.

+Add Shrimp and cook until pink. Season with Salt & Pepper. Add noodles! Add parsley.

+Plate and add grated parm.
