The Holy Grail of Ketones?

The Holy Grail of ketones? That’s a big title to live up to. When I received some sample packets in the mail I had no idea what to expect! What in the world would it taste like? And what does NAT even mean?

(Not sure what ketones are or why they’re so beneficial? Read More Here)

NAT TECHNOLOGY

Here’s what Pruvit’s site had to say about the new NAT formula:

“KETO//OS® NAT™ is the ONLY exogenous ketone in the WORLD created through a process of natural fermentation. These Pure Therapeutic Ketones® are MORE bio-identical, meaning they are closer to the natural ketone our bodies produce. KETO//OS® NAT™ is also guaranteed to stay in your body LONGER. Longer lasting = you stay in ketosis longer!”

FLAVOR

Ok, so that sounds pretty great, but now what about this flavor? So I shook it up and tried it for myself. Once shaken the color of the ketone is more of a clouded white color but that makes sense after you taste it. It reminds me of a light malibu rum drink you might experience at a beach bar somewhere with sandy toes and sunscreen on. I immediately fell in love. When I say immediate, I mean immediate. Who wouldn’t?

The NAT fermentation process has made the ketone smoother, lighter, and very enjoyable to drink. Holy Grail of Ketones? I think they’re on to something here.

WHERE TO FIND IT?

Pruvit has not made this flavor a staple yet, it’s brand new and just released from it’s vault. The flavor is available now until March 9th at 11:59pm CT or until sold out. I definitely recommend grabbing it, but if it’s gone by the time you read this, any of the other NAT flavors will work well for you. They’re smoother, cleaner, have a higher absorption rate, and even last longer!

Some of My Favorite Things

I think we can tell how much we enjoy or love something by how much we desire to share it with others. That’s true for me at least. When I discover something that has a great impact on me, that feels wonderful, that makes me laugh, that makes me think, I want to share it!

I recently curated some of my current favorite things to share with you! The entire curated list can be found here but I thought I’d share my top 5, in no particular order.

#1 Blue Light Blocking Glasses

Find Them Here

My eyes are the worst. I wear contacts, stare at a computer or some kind of screen almost all day every day, and in turn, get major headaches from it. Blue Light Blockers do just that! The lenses protect your precious eyes from the harmful blue light that is coming off of this very screen you’re staring at right now!

I purchases these exact glasses back in December of 2018 and when I wear them I’ve noticed I don’t get headaches like I used to…. and they’re super cute. There are some brands that are charging $60+ for each pair, but I found these babies on Amazon for about $17, so I consider that a win!

#2 She Reads Truth Bible

I purchased this Bible last January of 2018. So after using it for a little over a year I can say that I continue to love it. The translation that She Reads Truth uses is the Christian Standard Bible translation. I think it’s easy to understand while still staying accurate to the original language as best it can.

This Bible has room in the margins to journal, book descriptions and history, maps, timelines, and reading plans with devotionals for each book in the Bible as well. It’s beautiful and I’m still obsessed with it a year later.

#3 White BlenderBottle

I use these types of shaker bottles at least twice every single day. I use them to shake up my coffee with Keto Kreme and then later in the day I use one to shake up and drink my Ketone.

This one is my all time favorite for a couple reasons. It’s not huge and bulky. It fits in the cup holder in my car. It’s white. It has translucent clear areas that I can see the color of what I’m shaking up! It cleans very easily in the dishwasher and doesn’t stain.

#4 Everything But The Bagel Seasoning

If you follow the blog at all you know that this past year I’ve dived into learning about the ketogenic, low carb lifestyle. This seasoning has been one of the BEST things I’ve found when living with this way of eating. This seasoning is perfect on almost anything.

I put it on avocado, scrambled eggs, roasted chicken, cucumbers with cream cheese, and so much more I can’t even type them all. Do yourself a favor and add this to your life. It’s delicious.

#5 Silk Pillowcases

Variety of Sizes & Colors Here

This one may be the one that makes you go, “Ummm… ok?” BUT I’ve been determined to restore my damaged hair. One of the things I found in my ‘research’ was that silk pillowcases are softer on your hair, less drying on your hair and keeps the moisture in.

So, I bought two of them. One for me and one for the husband. He doesn’t really care about it but I love it. I’ve taken other steps to care for my hair and skin but this little step is so comfy and soft and makes hopping into bed very enjoyable.

Crispy Chicken Thigh Recipe

Ever since I was a kid I absolutely loved friend chicken. Something about the crisp with the chicken was just amazing. Fast forward to adulthood where I’ve learned how fried food can be the worst for you 🙂

So, here’s a recipe for Crispy Baked Chicken Thighs, no breading included. This recipe is super easy and is ketogenic and low carb friendly! Bonus, my kids loved them & my husband even took cold leftovers to work and enjoyed them!

Recipe

  • 10 Chicken Thighs, skin on & bone-in
  • 4 TB Olive Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic Powder
  • 21 Seasoning Salute, Trader Joe’s (Italian Seasoning Optional)
  • Cayenne Pepper, optional (not shown in video)

Preheat Oven to 400 degrees F. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels, and on a lined cooking tray coat them with olive oil, skin side up. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, & additional seasonings. Place in oven for about 60 minutes, longer if you like the skin very crispy and the chicken more well done.

Serve with sautéed veggies, mashed cauliflower, zucchini noodles, and more! Use whatever you have in the house and enjoy a simple and easy dinner night at home.

Can you maintain weight loss after a ketogenic diet?

Whenever we start a new diet we’re told the same thing by people, “Once you stop you’ll gain all the weight back!” I’m sure it’s true for most diets and most people, but I’ve experienced something different with the keto way of eating!

Due to crazy summer life, amped up time at work, two productions, and just lack of planning, I’ve been off my keto way of eating for a few months. Guess what? I have not gained ANY of it back! How in the world does that happen? I contribute it to a few things:

  1. Keto helped me learn to make better choices
  2. I drink keto kreme with my coffee for breakfast each day
  3. A slight increase in physical activity
  4. Including ketones in my day, keeping me fuller longer
  5. My cravings have significantly changed.

Now that it’s fall and my life is coming together again I’m going to get back to my way of eating. Why? Because I feel absolutely GREAT when eating keto and feel absolutely HORRIBLE when I’m not. Want to join me? Comment below if you’re ready to dive into a healthier fall!

10 Minute Workouts I Love

I pay for a gym membership that I use do not use regularly. But I realized something recently; the reasons I don’t go may be legitimate but they don’t need to be final answers. How else can I accomplish the same thing but make it work in my life with the schedule I have, right now? I can work out from home and it doesn’t need to cost anything or take up an incredible amount of time! Some type of workout is better than no workout right?

I follow a keto lifestyle which means that regular cardio exercises aren’t really what I need to do. The best thing for this type of lifestyle is to do some weight training. Did you know that your own body weight counts as weight training… um, yeah. So I found a couple YouTube videos posted by Pamela RF that I think are just amazing.

She doesn’t spend any time talking, at all. She just starts doing the exercise, a 30 second clock starts to countdown, and you work out for 10 minutes. For real, I’ve felt more burn and experienced more sweat from these two videos than from anything else I have done in at least a year.

Check out the playlist I made of my favorites so far:
